Sidney

Sidney Nettleson is a mercenary hirable from A.I.M., who was introduced in Jagged Alliance. He appears in all the games from the series.

Character Info[]

"A quiet and reflective member in excellent standing, Sidney Nettleson entertains a certain fondness for putting things to sleep permanently. Sometimes referred to as the "Sandman," his low-key approach doesn't alter the fact that he is a harsh professional." - Jagged Alliance

"Whether it's sharing a spot of tea with British blue-bloods or putting a .38 slug into an unwanted nuisance, Sidney does it with poise and dignity. Sidney combines the mannerisms of the upper crust with the lightning quickness of a Wild West gunslinger. Years of avid cricket-playing have also given him a much-feared throwing arm." - Jagged Alliance 2

Additional info[]

  • Snob, prim and proper.
  • No matter what the situation, he never loses his dignity.
  • Formal British accent.
  • in spite of his accent, his disdain for Australians and description of the Crepitus lead to the assumption that he is probably from New Zealand.
  • Cheerful, polite, optimistic professional.

Notes[]

  • Sidney's most important assets are his very good Marksmanship, good Health and Dexterity, above average Wisdom, and Medicine skill allowing him to perform first aid. His only flaws are lack of Mechanical skill and a bit too high salary for his attributes. When trained in Explosives and with Wisdom developed to at least 80, he can detect traps on the ground.
  • He can wield all the firearms available in Jagged Alliance 2, as well as wear completed Spectra armor suit without being much hindered. Giving Sidney a decent sniper rifle (for example M-24) is usually a good idea.
  • With his high Wisdom score, Sidney can be trained to a medic. His skill will rise quickly with a help of good trainer, such as Dr. Vincent Beaumont.
